Ever since I was a kid, I remember my Lego creations sitting on the shelf, collecting dust instead of admiration. Isn’t it funny how those little plastic bricks could spark so much joy? Now, I find myself dreaming about a vibrant display case that could do my builds justice. I mean, wouldn’t it be awesome to stroll past a beautifully lit shelf, showcasing my epic battles or creative castles? Just the other day, I stumbled upon an old photo of my first Lego masterpiece – a wobbly, yet majestic pirate ship – and I thought, ‘How can I honor that imagination?’ It’s more than just a case; it’s a testament to my creativity and childhood wonder. Don’t you just want to celebrate your Lego journey, too?

Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Gather Your Equipment
First things first, I’m going to gather all the equipment I need for this fun LEGO display case project. I've got my acrylic display case, cardboard base, LED strip lights, adhesive for plastic, paint pens for customizing, the LEGO figures I want to display, mounting tape, sandpaper, a ruler, and my trusty utility knife.
Step 2: Prepare the Base
Next, I take my cardboard base and cut it to size using the utility knife. I want it to fit perfectly under the acrylic display case, providing a stable platform. Once cut, I’ll reinforce it by gluing some extra layers if it's too flimsy.
Step 3: Customize the Display Case
Now, it’s time to get creative! I grab my paint pens and start customizing the acrylic display case. I decide to paint a fun border around the bottom or maybe add some fun designs like LEGO bricks or characters. Once I'm done, I let it dry completely.
Step 4: Install LED Strip Lights
For the next step, I’m going to add some LED strip lights. I measure the inside edges of the display case and cut the LED strip accordingly. After peeling off the adhesive layer, I stick the lights to the inside edges of the case, ensuring to leave enough length for the power source outside.
Step 5: Secure the Cardboard Base
With the acrylic display case looking fabulous, I place it on top of my cardboard base. To secure it, I use some adhesive, making sure it’s securely attached but also allowing me to remove it later if I want.
Step 6: Prepare the LEGO Figures
Now onto the fun part—arranging my LEGO figures! I lay them out to see how they look before securing anything. I use mounting tape or putty to secure the LEGO figures in their places inside the display case.
Step 7: Smooth any Edges
I check the edges of the cardboard base and the acrylic display case. If any edges are rough, I take my sandpaper and smooth things out. This will ensure that everything looks nice and polished.
Step 8: Final Touches and Lighting
Once the figures are secured and the edges are smooth, I plug in the LED strip lights and voila! The display is lit up beautifully! I make sure to stand back and admire my work, adjusting the figures as necessary.
Step 9: Show it Off
Finally, I find a perfect spot for my fun LEGO display case. Whether it’s on a shelf, a desk, or a display table, it’s ready to show off! I cannot wait to see the smiles on friends’ faces when they see my custom LEGO display.
