Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Gather Your Equipment
First things first, I gather all my equipment: artificial flowers, greenery filler, a foam board or wood panel, my trusty hot glue gun, some glue sticks, wire cutters, scissors, nails or hooks for hanging, fishing line or floral wire, and a spray sealant to finish it off.
Step 2: Prepare Your Base
I decide whether I want to use the foam board or wood panel for my display. For a more rustic look, I opt for the wood panel. I make sure it's clean and free of dust.
Step 3: Layout the Flowers
It’s time for the fun part! I start laying out the artificial flowers and greenery on the panel without gluing anything down yet. I play around with the arrangement, mixing colors and textures until I find a layout I absolutely love.
Step 4: Attach the Flowers
Once I'm happy with my layout, I grab my hot glue gun and start attaching the flowers one by one! I apply glue to the base of the flower stalks and press them firmly onto the panel. I make sure to add a generous amount of glue for extra hold.
Step 5: Add the Greenery Filler
Next, I take my greenery filler and start tucking it in between the flowers. This adds fullness and makes my arrangement look lush. I use scissors where necessary to trim the greenery to the right size.
Step 6: Secure Using Wire
To ensure that everything stays securely in place, I cut lengths of floral wire and carefully loop them around some of the flowers and the panel for extra security. I make sure to hide the wire as much as possible.
Step 7: Prepare for Hanging
Now it's time to prepare for displaying my beautiful creation! I determine where on the panel I want to place the nails or hooks. I make sure to attach these at the top edge of the panel or board to ensure it hangs nicely on the wall.
Step 8: Finish with Fishing Line
If I want my display to have that floating look, I measure and cut some fishing line, threading it through the back of the panel and securing it tightly, then tying it to the hooks. This gives my flower wall a unique and ethereal effect.
Step 9: Seal It All Up
Finally, for that extra protection and finish, I give my flower wall display a light spray with sealant. This ensures the flowers stay vibrant and prevents dust from settling on them.
Step 10: Enjoy Your Creation
With everything in place, I step back and admire my unique flower wall display! I can’t wait to hang it on my wall and add a pop of color to my space.
