- Scissors
- Floral Wire
- Floral Tape
- Glue (optional)
- Wire Cutters (optional)
- Ruler
- Pencil or Marker
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Gather Your Materials
I started by rounding up all my colorful tissue paper, scissors, floral wire, floral tape, glue, wire cutters, a ruler, and a pencil. It's like opening a treasure chest of crafting goodies!
Step 2: Cut Tissue Paper
I took the ruler and pencil and measured out sheets of tissue paper. I cut them into rectangles about 20 inches long and 10 inches wide. The colors are vibrant—pink, yellow, and blue!
Step 3: Layering the Paper
I stacked around 6-8 sheets of the cut tissue paper on top of each other. The more layers, the fluffier my flower will be! It’s a rainbow of layers!
Step 4: Accordion Fold
Now the fun part! I folded the stack accordion-style, making about 1 to 2 inch folds. As I fold, I can’t help but hum a little tune. It’s starting to look like a big colorful fan!
Step 5: Secure the Center
I grabbed the floral wire and tightly twisted it around the middle of my accordion-folded tissue paper. This will hold it all together and create the stem. I ensured it was super snug!
Step 6: Shape the Petals
With my scissors in hand, I rounded off the edges of both ends of the folded paper. This is going to give my flower those lovely petal shapes!
Step 7: Fluffing it Up
I carefully started to fluff out each layer of tissue paper, pulling them apart gently from the center. This part makes my heart race as the flower starts to bloom—so beautiful!
Step 8: Finishing Touches
I used the floral tape to wrap around the base of the petals and the floral wire to give it a clean look. If I want, I could use some glue to secure layers or add embellishments.
Step 9: Display My Creation
Finally, I stepped back to admire my colorful tissue paper flower masterpiece! I can’t wait to find the perfect spot to display it. Maybe in a vase or even as a decoration for a party!
