Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Gather All Your Materials
First things first! I laid out all my materials on a clean workspace. I have my wooden picture frames, craft paints, brushes, glitter, glue, stickers, ribbons, twine, hot glue gun, scissors, embellishments, photo corner stickers, craft foam sheets, sponge daubers, stencils, personalized name tags, and protective coating spray. It’s time to get creative!
Step 2: Paint the Frames
I decided to start by giving the wooden frames a fresh coat of color. I picked a bright festive red and carefully painted the frames with my paintbrush. It’s so satisfying to see the plain wood transform! I let them dry completely before moving on.
Step 3: Add Glitter
While the paint was still a bit tacky, I sprinkled some glitter over the frames to add a sparkle effect. The glitter clung perfectly to the painted surface! I couldn’t resist adding a bit more to the corners for extra shine.
Step 4: Perfecting the Decorations
Now comes the fun part! I pulled out my decorative stickers and started decorating the frames. I chose some snowflakes and Christmas trees. I just had to make sure to balance the stickers across the frame for a pleasing look.
Step 5: Add Ribbons and Twine
Next, I took some colorful ribbons and twine. I cut them into strips and tied little bows which I glued onto the tops of my frames using the hot glue gun. It added a lovely festive touch!
Step 6: Create Embellishments
I rummaged through my embellishments and found some cute buttons and beads. I randomly placed these around the stickers for a three-dimensional look, and glued them in place. Every little detail counts!
Step 7: Utilize Photo Corners
For the photos, I decided to use photo corner stickers. I placed these on the edges of the frames so I can easily swap out pictures when needed. It’s a fun way to display holiday memories!
Step 8: Craft Foam and Stencils
I also decided to get playful with some craft foam sheets. I cut out shapes using stencils for added creativity. Christmas stars and snowflakes were my go-to! I glued these on the frames to give them a pop.
Step 9: Personalize the Frames
To make them special, I wrote names on personalized name tags. I glued these tags onto the bottom corners of the frames. What a perfect way to give them as gifts!
Step 10: Final Touch - Protective Spray
The last thing I needed to do was to protect my beautiful creations. I carefully sprayed a light coat of protective coating spray over each frame. This helps ensure they last through the season and beyond.
Step 11: Display and Enjoy!
With my holiday photo frames completed, it’s now time to find the perfect spot to display them. I selected some of my favorite holiday photos and placed them in the frames. I can't wait to show them off!
