Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Gather My Materials
I start by gathering all my materials on a large workspace. I have my wooden frame, floral wire, hot glue gun with glue sticks, a variety of artificial flowers, some greenery fillers, craft scissors, a ruler, ribbon, LED fairy lights, hanging hardware, protective gloves, and optional spray adhesive.
Step 2: Prepare the Frame
Next, I take my wooden frame and give it a quick wipe down to ensure it’s clean. This is my canvas! I grab the ruler and make sure the frame is squared up and ready for decoration.
Step 3: Layout My Flowers
I lay out the artificial flowers and greenery on the frame without gluing anything just yet. This part is like a puzzle! I experiment with different placements and combinations until I find an arrangement that feels just right and captures the vibe I want.
Step 4: Secure Flowers with Floral Wire
Once I’m happy with the layout, I take the floral wire and start attaching the flowers to the frame at strategic points. I twist the wire to hold them in place! This is my first layer of attachment.
Step 5: Glue Everything Down
Now, using my hot glue gun, I carefully apply glue to the flowers and greenery, securing them more firmly to the frame. I like to place a good amount of glue where the wire is twisted for extra hold. *Just remember to wear those protective gloves!*
Step 6: Add More Greenery and Texture
I felt like my flower wall hanging needed a bit more greenery, so I add some of the greenery filler in between the flowers, gluing them down as I go. This is where I really have fun mixing textures!
Step 7: Incorporate LED Fairy Lights
Let’s add some magic! I carefully weave the LED fairy lights around the flowers. I try to keep the lights intertwined with the greenery to make it look natural and integrated. *It’s already starting to look beautiful!*
Step 8: Finish with Ribbon
I cut some ribbon to create a lovely bow that will hang from the top of the wall hanging. I glue the bow onto the frame securely and tie an extra piece for hanging.
Step 9: Final Touches
I step back and look at my creation. It’s gorgeous! If I want, I can use spray adhesive for some extra hold on strategic spots. I also check that everything is glued down well.
Step 10: Add Hanging Hardware
Finally, I attach the hanging hardware at the back so my flower wall hanging is ready to be displayed. I can’t wait to hang it on my wall!
Step 11: Admire My Work
I admire the finished product! The colors pop, the lights twinkle, and it feels so warm and inviting. I’m proud of my beautiful flower wall hanging!
