You ever find yourself wanting to just make someone's day a little brighter? Like, I'm sitting here, coffee in hand, thinking about my friend who always knows how to put a smile on my face. Shouldn't I do something sweet for them, too? I mean, who doesn't love a surprise card that says, "Hey, you matter to me"? It reminds me of that time we stayed up late laughing about the most ridiculous memes, and honestly, that memory still makes me giggle. So, I’m inspired to whip up a card that captures not just my love and gratitude, but also our inside jokes. It’s like a little piece of my heart I can send their way, and who wouldn't want to receive that?

Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Gather your materials
I start by gathering all my equipment: cardstock paper, colored markers, glue sticks, scissors, decorative stickers, ribbons or washi tape, envelopes, crafting scissors with decorative edges, pencil & eraser, stamps and ink pad, watercolors or colored pencils, glitter, paper cutter, stencils, and printed design templates.
Step 2: Choose a base cardstock color
I take a piece of cardstock paper and decide on the color I want for the base of my greeting card. I think a cheerful yellow will brighten my friend’s day!
Step 3: Cut the cardstock
Using the paper cutter, I cut the cardstock to the desired size. I typically go for a standard 5x7 inch card format.
Step 4: Fold the card
Next, I fold the cardstock in half neatly to create the card. I make sure the edges match up perfectly.
Step 5: Sketch out a design
I grab a pencil and sketch out a fun design on the front of the card. Maybe some balloons and a cheerful message for my friend!
Step 6: Outline with markers
Now, I use my colored markers to outline my pencil sketches, making everything pop with vibrant colors.
Step 7: Add some color
I then take my watercolors to fill in the balloons and other elements. Mixing some colors creates a lovely gradient effect.
Step 8: Decorate with stickers
Time to add some fun! I go through my decorative stickers and place a few around the design for extra flair.
Step 9: Add glitter and embellishments
I sprinkle some glitter on certain areas of my card to give it a sparkly touch, and I use ribbons to tie a small bow at the top.
Step 10: Write a heartfelt message
With a colored marker, I write a heartfelt message inside the card. I make sure it’s personal and reminds my friend how much they mean to me.
Step 11: Include an envelope
I then find an envelope that matches my card. I tuck the card inside, ensuring that everything is perfect and ready to go.
Step 12: Seal it with a stamp
Finally, I grab my stamps and ink pad and add a stamp on the envelope. I think it adds a nice, personal touch.
Step 13: Deliver the card
The final step is to deliver my creation to my friend. I can’t wait to see their face when they open it!
