Lately, I've been dreaming about creating this vibrant photo collage wall in my living room, you know? Just imagine walking into a space that’s filled with memories! There's something so magical about displaying those little snapshots of life, right? My best friend Sarah just did this whole wall of Polaroids from our travels, and every time I visit her place, I can’t help but smile. It makes me wonder, why don’t I have a wall that tells my story? What if I could immortalize those perfect moments—like that time we got lost in Paris and ended up at that tiny café? Ugh, the nostalgia is real! I can almost hear the laughter and feel the joy. Do I sound cheesy? Maybe, but wouldn't a collage of love and laughter make your heart skip a beat, too?

Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Gather Materials
I start by gathering all my materials: poster board, photo prints, glue or adhesive spray, scissors, ruler, level, nails or push pins, frames or clipboards, decorative elements like stickers and washi tape, string lights, wall putty or command strips, a photo collage kit, and digital software like Canva or Photoshop.
Step 2: Choose a Location
Next, I decide where on the wall I want to create my collage. I want it to be eye-catching, so I pick a spot that gets plenty of light and is visible from various angles.
Step 3: Plan the Layout
Before sticking anything to the wall, I lay out my photos on the floor. I experiment with different arrangements and spacing, using my ruler to keep things aligned.
Step 4: Make Backgrounds
If I want to add backgrounds to my photos, I cut the poster board into interesting shapes or sizes. I consider using different colors to make my collage pop!
Step 5: Adhere Photos and Backgrounds
Once I’m happy with the layout, I start using glue or adhesive spray to stick my photos onto the poster board or directly onto the wall if I’m going for a non-framed look.
Step 6: Add Decorative Elements
Now comes the fun part! I take my decorative elements like stickers and washi tape and start embellishing my collage. Maybe I’ll create borders around the photos or fun captions to go with them.
Step 7: Install the Collage
Using nails or push pins, I get my collage up on the wall. If I used poster boards, I position them carefully and ensure they are level using my level tool!
Step 8: String Lights
To make it extra special, I drape some string lights around the collage. This adds a warm, inviting glow that makes my photo wall feel magical at night.
Step 9: Final Touches
Finally, I step back to admire my work! I might add a few more decorative elements and adjust the lights for the best effect. If I want to change anything later, I remember I can always use wall putty or command strips for easy adjustments.
Step 10: Document the Process
Before finishing up, I snap a few photos of my beautiful new collage wall for my social media and to share with friends!
