Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
I start by gathering all my equipment: clear glass ornaments, acrylic paints, glitter, ribbon, and my hot glue gun with glue sticks. I lay everything out on the table, creating an inspiring workspace.
Step 2: Paint the Ornaments
Next, I select my favorite acrylic paints and begin to paint the inside of the clear glass ornaments. I choose vibrant colors that remind me of the holiday spirit. I swirl the paint around so it coats the inside, then set them aside to dry.
Step 3: Add Some Glitter
Once the paint dries, I sprinkle some matching glitter into the ornaments. I give them a gentle shake to distribute the glitter evenly. The sparkle adds that magical holiday touch!
Step 4: Create Decorative Elements
Using craft foam, scissors, and my permanent markers, I cut out fun shapes like stars and snowflakes. I decorate these with my markers before I hot glue them onto the outside of the ornaments.
Step 5: Embellish with Ribbons
I choose some colorful ribbons and cut them into strips. I tie them into bows and use the hot glue gun to securely attach them to the ornaments for an extra pop of festive flair.
Step 6: Make It Sparkle with Sequins and Beads
I take some sequin trim and beads, and start embellishing the ornament further. I glue the sequins directly onto the glass and use crafting wire to create whimsical bead clusters.
Step 7: Incorporating Twine and String
I cut some twine or string and create loops that I attach to the tops of the ornaments as hanging hooks. These add a rustic feel to my holiday decorations!
Step 8: Sealing the Ornaments
To make sure everything lasts, I give each ornament a light spray with the spray sealant. It preserves my designs while keeping everything in place.
Step 9: Add LED Fairy Lights
For a unique twist, I use a small set of LED fairy lights. I carefully stuff a few into some of the larger ornaments to create a glowing effect. They’ll look wonderful on the tree!
Step 10: Organize and Store
Finally, I gently place all my beautiful, handmade ornaments in a storage box that I’ve decorated to reflect the holiday theme. I can’t wait to hang these on the tree!
