Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients
First things first, I grab all my ingredients and equipment: Mixing Bowl, Measuring Cups, Measuring Spoons, Whisk, Silicone Molds, Plastic Gloves, Spray Bottle, Mixing Spoon or Spatula, Storage Container, Essential Oils, Food Coloring, Citric Acid, Baking Soda, Epsom Salt or Sea Salt, Cornstarch, and Scale.
Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
In my mixing bowl, I combine 1 cup of Baking Soda, 1/2 cup of Citric Acid, 1/2 cup of Epsom Salt (or Sea Salt), and 1/2 cup of Cornstarch. Using my whisk, I mix them all together until well combined. It’s like making magical powder!
Step 3: Prepare the Wet Ingredients
Next, I take my Spray Bottle and fill it with a little bit of water. I add a few drops of food coloring to it for some fun color! I also choose my favorite essential oil and measure about 1 teaspoon to add later.
Step 4: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Wearing my plastic gloves, I start adding the wet mixture to the dry mixture very slowly, spraying a little at a time. I make sure to mix it with my mixing spoon or spatula while I spray, so it doesn’t fizz up too much. I want the consistency to be like damp sand that holds together.
Step 5: Mold the Mixture
Now for the fun part! I take my silicone molds and pack the mixture tightly in each mold, pressing it down firmly. I overfill them just a little because I want my bath bombs to be nice and plump!
Step 6: Let Them Dry
I let the molds sit for about 24 hours, allowing the bath bombs to dry completely. While I wait, I can’t help but imagine how relaxing my next bath will be.
Step 7: Unmold the Bath Bombs
Once they are hard, I carefully remove them from the molds, and they look so lovely! I place them in my storage container, ready to use or gift to friends.
Step 8: Enjoy Your Bath Bombs
Finally, it’s time to enjoy my homemade bath bombs! I drop one into a warm bath and watch it fizz and release beautiful scents. What a delightful way to relax!
