You ever feel like the greetings cards on the shelf just don’t capture what you want to say? Like, how many times can we say 'Happy Birthday' or 'Thinking of You' without really digging into what those feelings mean? I remember the last birthday of a dear friend, and I searched every aisle, feeling so uninspired by the gloss and cliches. Wouldn't it be amazing to create my own style of greeting card? Something that truly reflects my thoughts, maybe even a little quirky or heartfelt? Imagine pouring your emotions into a card that makes someone smile, maybe even tear up a bit. Can you picture it? I think I want to dive into the world of card-making, and I can't help but wonder: what would mine look like?

Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Choose My Cardstock Paper
I start by picking my favorite cardstock paper. I love the feel and texture of bright colors, so today I'll go with a cheerful yellow.
Step 2: Cut the Card to Size
Using my paper trimmer, I cut the cardstock to the standard card size. I think 5x7 inches will be perfect for this greeting card.
Step 3: Design My Front Cover
I take my colored markers and begin to doodle! I'm drawing some happy little flowers and maybe a sun to make it vibrant. It's so much fun to let my creativity flow!
Step 4: Add Some Stamps
Next, I grab my stamps and ink pads. I stamp a cute greeting in the middle, something like 'You're Awesome!' The ink adds a nice contrast to my colorful drawings.
Step 5: Trim the Edges
I use my scissors to gently round the corners of the card. This gives it a nice finished look and feels softer when held.
Step 6: Decorate with Washi Tape
I choose some decorative washi tape and stick it along one edge of the card. The patterns are delightful and add a whimsical touch.
Step 7: Make it Sparkly
I can’t resist adding some glitter! With glue in hand, I dab some glue onto my flowers and sprinkle glitter on top. It looks fabulous!
Step 8: Use Craft Punches
I grab my craft punches and punch out some fun shapes like hearts and stars from leftover paper to add as embellishments on the card.
Step 9: Place Stickers
I love stickers, so I find a few that match my theme! I place a couple of cheerful animal stickers at the bottom. They are just too cute!
Step 10: Prepare an Envelope
Finally, I take an envelope that fits my card perfectly. I decorate the envelope with some more washi tape and a cute sticker on the front for extra flair.
Step 11: Write a Personal Message
Inside the card, I write a personal message with my colored pens. It’s heartfelt and adds a personal touch that everyone appreciates.
