Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients
I start by collecting all my equipment and ingredients. I make sure I have my Mixing Bowl, Whisk, Measuring Cups, Measuring Spoons, Silicone Molds, Spray Bottle, Sifter, Stirring Spoon, Essential Oils, Food Coloring, Citric Acid, Baking Soda, Epsom Salt, Cornstarch, and some Plastic Wrap or Wax Paper ready to go. It's time to create some relaxing bath bombs!
Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
In my Mixing Bowl, I add 1 cup of Baking Soda, 1/2 cup of Citric Acid, 1/2 cup of Epsom Salt, and 1/2 cup of Cornstarch. I grab my Sifter and sift the ingredients together so there are no clumps. This makes the mixture nice and fluffy.
Step 3: Add the Color and Scents
Next, I decide to have some fun with color! I add a few drops of Food Coloring to the dry mix, but I do it a little at a time and mix well with my Whisk until I achieve the perfect shade. Then, I pick my favorite essential oil—lavender is my go-to for relaxation—and add about 2 teaspoons into the mix. The smell is already heavenly!
Step 4: Prepare the Wet Mix
In a separate bowl, I mix 2-3 teaspoons of water with a little bit of my chosen Essential Oil and a few more drops of Food Coloring. I use my Stirring Spoon to blend it well. Then, I slowly spray this mixture into the dry ingredients using my Spray Bottle, mixing continuously with the Whisk. I want to ensure it's damp but not too wet—just enough so it holds together when pressed.
Step 5: Mold the Bath Bombs
Now comes the fun part! I take my damp mixture and start packing it tightly into my Silicone Molds. I really press down to ensure they hold their shape. I fill them to the top and then overfill a little because I like my bath bombs to be generous.
Step 6: Let Them Dry
Once I’ve filled my molds, I let them sit for about 24 hours to dry. I place them on a tray and cover them with Plastic Wrap or Wax Paper to keep dust off. I can hardly wait for them to be done!
Step 7: Unmold and Store
After waiting patiently, it's time to unmold my bath bombs! I gently remove them from the molds, and they come out beautifully—colorful and aromatic! I store them in a cool, dry place, ready for my next relaxing bath.
Step 8: Enjoy Your Bath Bombs!
Finally, the moment I’ve been waiting for—I run a warm bath, drop in a bath bomb, and watch it fizz and dissolve while the relaxing scent fills the air. Ah, pure bliss!
