The holiday season always seems to sneak up on me, doesn’t it? One moment I’m enjoying pumpkin spice lattes, and the next I’m scrambling to find the perfect gift! But you know what makes this time of year truly special? A little piece of my heart captured in homemade greeting cards. I remember last year, sitting at my kitchen table, surrounded by glitter and glue, feeling that rush of joy when I finally finished a card that made my sister tear up. Isn’t it amazing how a simple piece of paper can carry so much love? I can’t help but wonder: who wouldn't cherish a card made just for them? So, this year, I’m determined to dive into crafting these little treasures again. What will I create this time?

Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Gather my supplies
I start by gathering all of my supplies: cardstock paper, colored markers, stickers, glue stick, double-sided tape, scissors, paper trimmer, ruler, crafting scissors, stamps and ink, washi tape, embellishments like sequins and ribbons, envelopes, coloring pencils, glitter, and my trusty heat gun.
Step 2: Cut the cardstock
Next, I take my cardstock paper and use the paper trimmer to cut it down into the size I want for my holiday cards. A standard size is 5x7 inches, so I make sure to measure and cut accordingly.
Step 3: Fold the cardstock
Once I've cut the cardstock, I fold it neatly in half to create the card shape. I use the ruler to ensure that my fold is straight and crisp.
Step 4: Choose a theme
I think about the theme of my cards. Should they be wintery, festive, or even funny? I decide on a winter wonderland theme with snowflakes and stars.
Step 5: Decorate the front
Using colored markers, I start decorating the front of the cards with doodles of snowflakes and stars. I let my creativity flow and don’t worry about perfection.
Step 6: Add stickers
I rummage through my sticker collection and select some cute holiday-themed stickers. I carefully place them alongside my drawings to add some flair.
Step 7: Use washi tape
Next, I reach for my colorful washi tape. I take some and stick it around the edges of the card for a pop of color and a bit of texture.
Step 8: Write a message
Now it's time to write a heartfelt message inside each card. I use my colored pencils to write messages that really express my warm wishes for the holiday season.
Step 9: Embellish the cards
I want to make them really sparkly, so I grab some glitter and carefully sprinkle it over parts of the card, using the glue stick to make sure it sticks. I add ribbons as finishing touches and sequins for a little bling.
Step 10: Stamp the cards
I pull out my stamps and ink and start stamping small designs like 'Happy Holidays' on the front. It adds a nice professional touch!
Step 11: Final touches
With everything in place, I use a bit of double-sided tape to secure any loose ends. I then use the heat gun to set the glitter, making sure it stays put.
Step 12: Prepare envelopes
I pick out matching envelopes and carefully slide each card inside. I use some washi tape to seal them shut for an extra pop of fun.
Step 13: Mail them out
Finally, it's time to mail out my beautiful homemade holiday cards! I’m so excited to spread joy and holiday cheer to my friends and family.
