As the crisp air of fall begins to embrace us once again, I can't help but think about the cozy vibes of the season. You know that feeling when you can almost taste the pumpkin spice? It's comforting, isn’t it? I’ve been daydreaming about making fabric-covered pumpkins—how fun would that be? Just imagine cozying up my living room with some handmade decor that’s bursting with color and personality! Plus, wouldn't it be nice to create something that screams autumn while also being a bit different from the usual orange and black? I remember last year, my neighbor had the cutest little fabric pumpkins; I couldn't resist making a few of my own this time around! What fabrics would I use? And should I go all out with patterns or keep it simple? The possibilities are endless!

Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Gather Your Equipment
First things first! I grab my pumpkin forms, a variety of fabrics in fall colors, my hot glue gun with glue sticks, scissors, craft knife, paintbrush, ruler, marker or fabric chalk, optional pumpkin stems, filler material, and a jar of Mod Podge in case I want to seal my pumpkins later on.
Step 2: Choose Your Pumpkins
I pick out the pumpkin forms I want to use. You can go with different sizes and shapes for a more interesting display!
Step 3: Cut the Fabric
Using my ruler and marker or fabric chalk, I measure out enough fabric to cover each pumpkin. I make sure to leave a little extra around the edges to wrap it over the top.
Step 4: Prep the Fabric
Once I have my fabric pieces cut, I lay them out and check how they look against the pumpkins. The perfect fall patterns always bring a smile to my face!
Step 5: Attach the Fabric to the Pumpkin
I heat up my glue gun and start gluing! I spread hot glue over the top of the pumpkin form, quickly placing my fabric down and pressing it into place. I carefully wrap the fabric around and secure it with more glue as I go. It's like wrapping a gift, but much more fun!
Step 6: Shape It Up
With the fabric secured around the pumpkin, I snip away any excess fabric at the bottom for a cleaner look. If I need to, I can use my craft knife for any tricky spots.
Step 7: Add Filler Material
If I want my pumpkin to have a bit of fluff, I take some filler material and stuff it into the fabric to give it shape and dimension.
Step 8: Attach the Stem (Optional)
I check if I want to add a stem. If I do, I’re using a cute twig or faux stem, and I secure it to the top of my fabric-covered pumpkin with hot glue.
Step 9: Seal it with Mod Podge (Optional)
For extra durability and that shiny finish, I grab my Mod Podge and paintbrush, applying a layer over the fabric. It looks so good and gives it a nice polished touch!
Step 10: Display Your Pumpkins
Finally, I find the perfect spot to display my fabulous fabric-covered pumpkins. They add a cheerful, cozy vibe to my fall decor, and I can't wait to show them off!
