Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Get Ready for Fun!
First things first, I put on my favorite apron and gloves. I want to keep my clothes safe from any spills and protect my hands while I mix up these delightful bath bombs.
Step 2: Gather My Ingredients
I gather all my lovely ingredients and equipment: my mixing bowl, whisk, molds, measuring cups, measuring spoons, spray bottle, essential oils, citric acid, baking soda, cornstarch, Epsom salt, food coloring, and a storage container. It’s going to be a colorful, fragrant adventure!
Step 3: Mix the Dry Ingredients
In my mixing bowl, I start by adding 1 cup of baking soda, 1/2 cup of citric acid, 1/2 cup of cornstarch, and 1/2 cup of Epsom salt. Using my whisk, I mix these dry ingredients really well until it’s a lovely, fluffy mixture!
Step 4: Add the Fun Colors
Now for some color! I carefully add a few drops of food coloring into the mix. I want vibrant bath bombs, so I add until I like the shade. I mix again with my whisk; it's starting to look amazing!
Step 5: Prepare the Wet Ingredients
In a separate small bowl, I combine 2.5 tablespoons of water with a few drops of my favorite essential oils. I love lavender, so I add that for a relaxing scent. It’s such a nice combination!
Step 6: Combine Wet and Dry
Carefully, I start to add my wet mixture to the dry ingredients. I sprinkle a little at a time and stir with my whisk. This part can get a bit fizzy, so I’m careful not to add it too quickly!
Step 7: Check the Consistency
Once all the wet mixture is added, I give it one last good mix! I want it to hold together like damp sand when I squeeze it in my hand. If it’s too dry, I give it a little spritz of water from my spray bottle.
Step 8: Mold the Bath Bombs
Now the best part! I take my molds and pack the mixture into them tightly. I’m really pressing it down so they hold their shape. I fill each mold to the top and then press them together. They look perfectly round!
Step 9: Let Them Dry
I gently place my filled molds on a towel and let them dry for at least 24 hours. I can’t wait to see how they turn out! The anticipation is so exciting!
Step 10: Pop Them Out
After waiting patiently, it’s time to pop my bath bombs out of the molds. I gently tap and they come out beautifully! I admire my creations; they are so colorful and smell heavenly.
Step 11: Store or Use
Finally, I place my lovely bath bombs in my storage container. They’re ready to be used for a relaxing bath or gifted to friends. I’m so proud of what I made today!
