Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Gather Your Materials
First, I make sure I have everything I need: clear glass jars, distilled water, glycerin, glitter, waterproof figurines, a hot glue gun, glue sticks, tissue paper or felt, paints or markers, and sealant. This is going to be so much fun!
Step 2: Choose Your Figurine
I pick a cute waterproof figurine for my snow globe. It could be a little snowman, a reindeer, or anything winter-themed. I can't wait to see it in action!
Step 3: Prepare the Base
Next, I take the lid of the jar and attach the figurine to the center of the lid using my hot glue gun. I make sure it’s secure, so it doesn't float away when I add the water.
Step 4: Decorate the Bottom
Before I seal the globe, I like to add some decorations at the bottom of the jar. I cut some tissue paper or felt into a snowy landscape and hot glue it to the bottom of the jar. It looks cozy in there!
Step 5: Mix the Liquid
Now it’s time to fill the globe! I pour distilled water into the jar, leaving some space at the top. Then I add a splash of glycerin. This will help slow down the glitter's fall, making it look pretty when I shake it up.
Step 6: Add the Glitter
I sprinkle in some glitter or fake snow. The more, the merrier! I’m excited to see how it swirls around the figurine when I shake it.
Step 7: Seal the Jar
Now I carefully place the lid with the figurine on top of the jar. I use my hot glue to seal the lid shut so that no water leaks out. I want this snow globe to be perfect!
Step 8: Decorate the Outside
To add a personal touch, I can paint or draw on the outside of the jar. Maybe some snowflakes or a cheerful message. I grab my paints and let my creativity flow!
Step 9: Apply Sealant
To make sure everything stays in place and looks shiny, I apply some sealant or varnish to the outside. It gives a nice finish and protects my artwork!
Step 10: Shake and Enjoy!
Finally, it's time to test it out! I give my snow globe a good shake, and I watch the glitter swirl around the figurine. I'm in love with how it turned out. It's like a little winter wonderland!
