Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Gather Your Materials
I start by laying out all my equipment on a clean workspace. I have my glass ornaments, paints, glitter, brushes, and everything else I need in front of me. This is where the fun begins!
Step 2: Prepare the Ornaments
I put on my protective gloves to keep my hands clean and safe. I select a few glass ornaments and give them a quick wipe to ensure they are dust-free.
Step 3: Design the Base Layer
I take my glass paints and mix a few colors on my mixing palette. Using a paintbrush, I start painting the inside of the ornaments. I love swirling the colors around to create a marbled effect!
Step 4: Add Some Glitter
Once the paint dries a little, I carefully pour some glitter inside the ornaments. I grab my small funnel to make this easier, and I shake the ornaments gently to spread the glitter around.
Step 5: Create Clay Decorations
Next, I'm going to use air dry clay. I mold some tiny shapes like stars and hearts, which I’ll later attach to the ornaments. I let them dry while I work on the next steps.
Step 6: Decorate with Tissue Paper
I cut out small shapes from colorful tissue paper. I take some Mod Podge and a clean brush, applying it to the outside of the glass ornaments, then placing the tissue paper shapes on top. A seal of Mod Podge over the tissue helps secure it.
Step 7: Add Ribbons and String
Once everything is dry, I choose pretty ribbons and strings to create loops at the top of the ornaments. I tie them securely, making a neat bow to add a festive touch.
Step 8: Final Touches with Beads
I grab my small craft items like beads and sequins. Using glue, I decorate the outside of the ornaments, sticking these embellishments wherever I think it looks great.
Step 9: Seal the Ornaments
For durability, I spray a light coat of sealer spray on the finished ornaments, ensuring they’ll stay beautiful throughout the holiday season.
Step 10: Admire My Work
Finally, I take a step back and admire my unique creations. I can’t wait to hang these beautiful ornaments on the tree and share them with family and friends!
